Abstract

An investigation was performed on rabbits in order to find out the possibility of using pericardium of the cattle processed by glutar aldehyde (xenopericardium) as a plastic material for defects of tendon-ligament structures. There was carried out a morphological and morphometrical research of hystological slices from the area of implantation in 1, 2, 3, 6, 12 months after the operation. The result of the research shows the appearance of non-specific morphological changes as a granulematose inflammation around xenotransplant. In a year after implantation there was a gradual replacement of the transplant by newly-formed tissue with saving of original structure of the tendon.
